Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 19 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen warned foreigners from intervening cases of Cambodian politicians committing criminal offenses, speaking during inspection of construction progress of Techo Santepheap National Hospital, held on Thursday morning (Jan 19) in Phnom Penh.
"Foreigners should not intervene. If you want to, please review Hun Sen's speech about the opposition group’s ill-intended actions. Do you know how to protect your dignity? Recently, the so-called democratic country like Germany also arrested environmental activists. If they can do it, why can’t we? [...] Who is going to blame Germany? They can blame only the poor," the premier underscored.
On 17 January 2022, climate activist Greta Thunberg has been detained by German police at a protest over the expansion of a coal mine in the west German village of Lützerath. This is the second time Thunberg has been detained at the site, according to CNN report.
