Maldives (FN), Jan. 16 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen intended to boost trade between Cambodia and the Maldives through the export and import of some high-potential goods, speaking during a joint press conference on Monday afternoon (Jan 16) at the Maldives Presidential Palace.
Premier Hun Sen said, “we consider to expand the trade volume between the two countries, for Cambodia has goods that can be export to the Maldives, such as rice and other agricultural products that are not only just for the people of the Maldives, but also for tourists visiting the Maldives.”
“Since Cambodian rice ranks first in the world for its best quality for five times, hopefully this rice will serve the Maldives and for tourists visiting here,” the premier added.
Samdech continued, in addition to Cambodian rice, there are other agricultural products such as cashews, bananas, mangoes and traveling goods that can be exported to the Maldives.
At the same time, the premier also consider importing canned fish made in the Maldives and some other fish products back to Cambodia.
