Maldives (FN), Jan. 16 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen conveyed an invitation of Cambodian king Norodom Sihamoni to the president of the Republic of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to pay a state visit to Cambodia, especially during the opening of the SEA Games.

The premier spoke during a joint press conference on Monday afternoon (Jan 16) at the Maldives Presidential Palace.

"I would like to take this opportunity to convey regards, along with an invitation of his majesty king Norodom Sihamoni, to the president to visit Cambodia and, if possible, during the opening of the SEA Games in May 2023,” the premier underlined.

On that occasion, Samdech proposed to expand the cultural field between Cambodia and the Maldives and mentioned the mutual scholarships to Cambodian and Maldivian students. Samdech also mentioned that the Maldives is a great tourist attraction and he wants Cambodia’s Dara Sakor coastal area to develop like the Maldives.
