Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 16 – Cambodia and the Maldives agreed to issue a 30-day visa waiver between the two countries.
Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen and president of the Republic of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih held a joint press conference on Monday afternoon (Jan 16) at the Maldives Presidential Palace.
"I am pleased to see and reach a visa agreement between the two countries," said the Maldives president. "Maldives and Cambodians will travel freely without a visa for 30 days."
Cambodia and the Maldives signed six agreements Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during premier Hun Sen’s official visit to the Maldives. The six agreements are as follow:
1. Agreement on visa waiver for holders of diplomatic, official and normal passports
2. Agreement on economic cooperation
3. MoU on bilateral consultation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the two countries
4. MoU on tourism cooperation
5. MoU on cooperation in the health sector
6. MoU between the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce and the Maldives National Chamber of Commerce and Industry
