Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 14 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen shared eight recommendations during his 5th meeting with journalists at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Center on Saturday evening (Jan 14).
The eight recommendations are as follow:
1. The Ministry of Information must push for the draft law on the right to information to implement in a seventh mandate and prepare to launch a digital TV platform in Cambodia in early 2023 and to shut down analog TV in 2025.
2. Public and private media institutions must participate in maintaining peace, political stability, security, and social order.
3. From 25 January 2023, all media shall join the campaign to promote the 100-day countdown of the 32nd SEA Games 2023 in Cambodia to boost the spirit of the people to celebrate the games and inspire athletes to train hard for the upcoming competitions.
4. The media must establish a partnership with the Royal Government by acting as a bridge between the state institution to the people and vice versa.
5. All media must continue to participate in the campaign to fight against inactivity, irregularities, corruption and injustice in society to build a clean and transparent society.
6. All media must continue to participate in the fight against false information in both national and international frameworks.
7. The Association of Journalists must continue to cooperate with relevant institutions to provide vocational training, professional capacity to its staff and agencies to keep up with the development of digital media technology.
8. All media must participate in disseminating educational information for people to be vaccinated against COVID19 and implement the measures set by the Royal Government and the Ministry of Health consistently.
