Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 12 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen sent a letter to Japanese prime minister Kishida Fumio on the 70th Anniversary of Cambodia-Japan diplomatic relations.
“On behalf of the Royal Government and the people of Cambodia, I would like to convey my best wishes and warmest congratulations to Your Excellency, the government, and the friendly people of Japan on the auspicious occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Cambodia and Japan. I am sincerely delighted that our bilateral relations have reached a new milestone, as evidenced by the recent elevation from a strategic partnership to a "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership,” according to the letter seen by Fresh News on Thursday (Jan 12).
“Over the past 70 years, Cambodia and Japan have maintained excellent relations and productive cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral frameworks, despite great uncertainties and major challenges faced by our region and the world recently. The Royal Government and people of Cambodia have always highly valued Japan's crucial contribution and continual support to Cambodia's peacebuilding and socio-economic development. It is my fervent hope that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between both countries will yield even greater benefits to our peoples and our nations.”
