Kampong Cham (FN), Jan. 9 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen further urged citizens to get the booster shot to prevent the spread of COVID19 and adhere to health measures.

The premier spoke at the groundbreaking for the reconstruction and upgrading of National Road No. 7, held on Monday morning (Jan 9) in Kampong Cham province.

"So far, although our vaccination rates are high, we still need to pay high attention. I would like to further urge our citizens to adhere to health measures. Moreover, please continue to get the booster shot to boost the immune system," the premier underscored.

Samdech added that presently, a new XBB variant emerges. Although the new variant does not yet arrive in the kingdom, Cambodians living abroad had infected.

To date, over 15.2 million doses of COVID19 vaccines, or 95.28 percent of the total population, have been administered in the kingdom. Over 10 million shots on people aged 18 and above.
