Kampot (FN) Dec. 30 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen further called on citizens to jointly fight against COVID19, in particular, to get booster shots to have strong immune systems.

The premier spoke at the groundbreaking for the reconstruction and upgrading of National Road No. 31 and No. 33, held at Kampot on Friday (Dec 30).

"Our people should be better prepared to boost immunity from COVID19. [...] Even Omicron can kill us if we do not have immunity. We need to continue to get the vaccine," the premier underscored.

Samdech announced to kick off the 4th dose for children from 3 to 5 years old, the 5th dose for children from 5 to 12 years old and the 6th dose for government officials, authorities and citizens.

Samdech added, "we need to set a routine to get a vaccination every six months. It is a necessary duty in the fight against the COVID19 pandemic".

To date, over 15.2 million doses of COVID19 vaccines, or 95.26 percent of the total population, have been administered in the kingdom. Over 10 million shots on people aged 18 and above.
