Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 29 – Sathapana Tower, in collaboration with the Fire and Rescue Department of the Ministry of Interior, conducted a joint Fire Drill Exercise for all tenants, service providers, and visitors of the Tower. H.E. Vantha Net, Director of the Fire Department of the Ministry of Interior, presided over the event with the representative of Sathapana Tower, Mr. Sophan Ou, General Manager of Sathapana Tower, accompanied by Mr. Kenji Kuroki, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Sathapana Bank.

Sathapana Tower is equipped with a high firefighting system and fully complies with the local and international standards of the Fire Code. This exercise aims to promote awareness of building safety and prepare the readiness of each tenant to respond to a real-time fire outbreak in the building. The fire drill was conducted with the participation of 3 fire trucks, 28 firefighters, 57 fire marshals, and wardens. Circa 600 people participated in this exercise.

The fire drill started at 08:30 AM and concluded at 10:00 AM, where there was also real-time training on how to use fire extinguishers provided to all floor marshals and wardens. A victim rescue practice exercise was also conducted at Levels 5 and 9 by the Fire and Rescue Police Department, which is a reference for our floor marshals to understand the rescue methods in the future.

H.E. Vantha Net has strongly congratulated Sathapana Tower on this excellent fire drill exercise, representing a perfect example of fire safety compliance for other buildings in Cambodia to follow. H.E. Vantha Net mentioned that from his observation, all tenant fire marshals and professional fire and rescue teams had showcased exceptional firefighting and evacuation skills. His excellency would hope that in the case of a real fire emergency, all fire marshals and employees would be able to respond swiftly and prevent major damage.

Mr. Kenji Kuroki, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Sathapana Bank, has stated that Sathapana Tower and Bank have set as a priority the safety and wellness of all employees working inside the Tower and by seeing its importance to understanding the prevention, evacuation, and rescue procedures of fire safety, the administration had made a request and collaborated with the Fire and Rescue Department to conduct this fire drill exercise.
