Kampong Speu (FN), Dec. 26 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that the official launch of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) is the pride for Cambodia under the initiative by himself ten years ago during ASEAN chairmanship in 2012.

The premier spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony of the construction and upgrade of National Road No. 41 at Kampong Speu Province on Monday morning (Dec. 26).

“RCEP is initiated by myself as the rotating chair of ASEAN in 2012 and it entered into force in 2022," the premier underscored.

RCEP consists of 15 member states namely 10 ASEAN’s members and five of ASEAN’s FTA partners such as China, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the South-Korea.

According to the premier, RCEP is one of the excellent role model for trading system that is open, inclusive, and rule-based, and reflects the genuine commitment to strengthening regional cooperation.
