Sihanoukville (FN), Dec. 22 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that three-generation traitor Sam Rainsy is stupid for not understanding the mandate of ASEAN Chairmanship.

The premier spoke at the inauguration of a 43-kilometer road connecting Prey Nup district to Sihanoukville on Thursday morning (Dec 22).

"He dared to accuse me of robbing ASEAN chairmanship. I never think this guy [Sam Rainsy] insulted the French president Emmanuel Macron who extended the warmest hospitality for me over three-hour meeting at the Elysee Palace," the premier underscored.

Sam Rainsy wrote Tuesday (Dec. 15) on his Facebook page that “Hun Sen secretly used his name as chair of ASEAN to be officially welcomed by French president Emmanuel Macron on December 13, 2022. In fact, Indonesian president Joko Widodo is the current chair of ASEAN.”

Rainsy’s statement clearly showed that he lacks understanding of ASEAN chair’s mandate. The statement is also considered as a serious insult to French president Emmanuel Macron, the leaders of European countries, and the next ASEAN chair, who are considered as being easily fooled by premier Hun Sen.
