Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 17 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen expressed his sincere appreciation to all journalists and media outlets for their support and active participation with the Royal Government in implementing vaccination campaign and fighting against COVID19 in the community, according to the 19th Editorial Forum of the Press of Cambodia on Saturday (Dec 17).
The premier claimed that through this participation, the Royal Government is able to reopen the country, in particular the kingdom’s socio-economic activities.
Samdech also underlined that effective control of COVID19 has made it possible for Cambodia to successfully host the 55th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting, the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summit, and the 43rd ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Meeting (AIPA), further promoting Cambodia's prestige on the international stage.
In addition, the premier highly appreciated the media and journalists who have made great efforts to cover and disseminate information to the people both in the country and abroad to know and understand the historical events of Preparation of the 55th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting and Related Meetings of the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summit and Related Meetings and the 43rd ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Meeting (AIPA) hosted by Cambodia recently.
According to premier Hun Sen, these great and historic achievement show the cooperation and partnership between the Royal Government of Cambodia and institutions and journalists who have overcome all obstacles to report and share up-to-date information to the people despite the fact that our media has been affected economically by the global political crisis as well as the COVID19.
At the same time, Samdech also commended the Press Unit, Cambodian Journalists Alliance Association and Clubs of Cambodian Journalists for their cooperation with relevant ministries and institutions in training human resources in the field of journalism, strengthening the understanding and implementation of journalism ethics, as well as media literacy and digital technology and information to increase professional awareness of ethics and integrity in the work, as well as increase technical capacity to keep up with the development of digital media technology today.
