Preah Sihanouk (FN), Dec. 10 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen urged citizens to rear animal and farming to serve the local tourism sector, speaking at the opening ceremony of the 9th Sea Festival, the 3rd round under the theme "Bay of Peace, Bay of Hope", held on Saturday (Dec 10) in Preah Sihanouk Province.

"I still insist that we need to boost the on-site export. Exports do not refer to cross-border exports, but our farmers can raise livestock and do farming, so that they can supply the hotel’s restaurants. Such action is also considered part of the on-site export," the premier underlined.

At the same time, Samdech also called on the entire tourism sector to become a market for farmers and producers, as in the past, the tourism sector can receive up to 6.6 million tourists.

In addition, the premier also told the Ministry of Tourism to develop a plan to liaise with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, as well as other production sectors, to make tourism a market for farmers.

Samdech also called for efforts to promote production in accordance with the standards to serve the tourism sector, especially to create a green belt in the tourism area.
