Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 6 – On 2 December 2022 at 7:45am Phnom Penh time, Cambodia Airways KR751 Phnom Penh-Singapore flight departed from Phnom Penh International Airport and successfully landed at Changi Airport at 10:30am Singapore time the same day. This symbolizes the success of the inaugural flight of Cambodia Airways’ new route.
To celebrate the maiden voyage, flight attendants presented all passengers on board with cute dolls as the souvenirs.
Changi Airport, the destination of the two-hour journey, held a warm welcome ceremony after the aircraft landed, Representatives and staff of Changi Airport Group (CAG) cordially gifted each arriving passenger from afar with a customized souvenir and a free ticket to the Hedge Maze in Jewel Changi. They also held a cake-cutting ceremony with representatives of Cambodia Airways, who had just arrived, to celebrate the opening of the new regular flight.
In addition, from now until 31 March 2023, all passengers travelling to Singapore with Cambodia Airways can collect a Jewel Privilege Card to enjoy shopping discounts at participating outlets from Jewel Changi Airport! Tourists visiting Singapore can also receive a SG$5 Jewel Retail Voucher by flashing their passports at Level 2 Jewel Concierge. With Cambodia Airways' boarding pass, all passengers are also eligible for a 10% discount on the standard admission rate to the Canopy Park attractions on Level 5 of Jewel Changi Airport.
As the revealed December flight schedule of Cambodia Airways, there will be multiple flights from Phnom Penh - Singapore - Siem Reap - Phnom Penh on Fridays and direct flights from Phnom Penh to Singapore on Wednesdays and Sundays. On the same day after departure from Singapore, the flight KR756 (Singapore-Siem Reap), the flight flew straight to Siem Reap International Airport. After landing in Siem Reap, the representatives and staff of Siem Reap International Airport welcomed the first group of passengers from Singapore with flower garlands.
At 14:40 pm, flight KR802 took off from Siem Reap International Airport and landed at Phnom Penh International Airport at 15:30 pm.
By this time, Cambodia Airways has successfully inaugurated a new route from Phnom Penh to Singapore after active planning and preparation, overcoming obstacles, and with the strong support of Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Changi Airport.
The initiation of the Singapore route is an important part of Cambodia Airways' route network deployment scheme, laying a solid foundation for Cambodia Airways to build a 5-hour aviation circle with Phnom Penh as the core and radiating to the Asia-Pacific region in the future.
In this regard, Lim Ching Kiat, Changi Airport Group (CAG)’s managing director of Air Hub Development said, "We are delighted to welcome Cambodia Airways to Changi. Passenger traffic between Singapore and Cambodia has been increasing steadily and is currently at more than 80% of pre-COVID levels. The new thrice-weekly flight service will provide passengers with more travel options to Cambodia. CAG looks forward to working closely with Cambodia Airways to grow its flights at Changi.”
In the future, Cambodia Airways will continue its mission to expand cultural exchanges between Cambodia and the world, building bridges between Cambodia and the international community by opening more international flights, moving forward to convey Khmer culture to the world and to achieve the vision of becoming the national name card of Cambodia.
