Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 21 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen shared four key points and tips to promote sports in Cambodia and to prepare for the 2023 SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games.

The premier spoke at the opening ceremony of the 3rd National Sports Event and the 1st Sports for the Disabled 2022 at the Morodok Techo National Stadium on Monday evening (Nov 21).

The four key points are as follows:

1.  Encourage all athletes to abide by the rules of sports competitions to promote fairness in the competition, dignity and professional ethics in the competition.
2.  Appeal to public and private media to actively involve in media campaigns on “One person plays one sport at least,” “Visit Cambodia 2023”, “Together for a clean Cambodia”, “Sports live in peace” inside and outside the country.

3.  Urge Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports to diversify sports activities to promote sports in the country and increase the integration of sports to the economy, in particular sports tourism, a green tourism to strengthen friendship and solidarity that contributes to sustainable peace in the region.

4.  Urge the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia and the Cambodia SEA Games Organising Committee (CAMSOC) to increase technical cooperation and provide training as much as possible to Cambodian athletes so that Cambodian athletes can attend international events in the future.
