Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 13 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen reiterated that he is destined to be a prime minister, the longest-serving minister in the world, a destiny that can't be changed.
The premier spoke at the press conference on the outcomes of the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and Related Summits, held on Sunday (Nov 13) in Phnom Penh.
Samdech reiterated that he remains the candidate for the prime minister position in the 2023 election and he will be prime minister until he wants to stop.
Premier Hun Sen, president of the Cambodian People's Party, has been the incumbent prime minister since 1985. He was appointed as deputy prime minister and foreign minister at the age of 27, and later elected to become the prime minister at the age of 32.
The premier has been the ASEAN chair for three times, in 2002, 2012 and 2022, after Cambodia officially became a member of ASEAN in 1999.
