Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 13 – Cambodia prime minister Hun Sen announced that founder of Brunei-based charity organization Haji Muhammad lqbal Fakhri Haji Damit has been conferred the ASEAN Prize 2022.

The premier spoke at the closing ceremony of the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and Related Summits and handing over ASEAN Chairmanship to Indonesia, held on Sunday (Nov 13) in Sokha Hotel Phnom Penh.

“The award is in recognition for his work that enhances the spirit of a people oriented and resilient ASEAN Community,” the premier underscored.

For over a decade, Muhammad Damit has been actively mobilizing assistances and driving youth volunteerism in support for the upliftment and development of marginalized and vulnerable people across the region.
