Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 9 – Chinese prime minister Li Keqiang announced to offer an additional over USD 27 million financial assistance to improve Cambodian citizens' livelihood and pledged to help restore in potential sectors.
The Chinese premier spoke during a bilateral meeting with Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen, held on Wednesday afternoon (Nov 9) at the Peace Palace.
Li Keqiang said that the Cambodia-China relations is a deep relationship in all sectors. He was pleased with the relations and praised kingdom's rapid development.
Chinese counterpart pledged to further assist Cambodia to make more progress, in which China will provide additional assistance such as: offering over USD 27 million financial assistance to improve citizens' livelihood. China will continue to support the restoration of Cambodia's heritage; offering more scholarship for Cambodian students to study in China; assisting in de-mining activities; helping organize the upcoming SEA Games and training Cambodian athletes; assisting in the construction of bridges across the Mekong River and construction of the railway connecting Cambodia-Thailand-Laos and China; and assisting in the agricultural sector to ensure the quality of Cambodian agricultural products can be exported to China in accordance with the quota.
For his part, premier Hun Sen welcomed and thanked Li Keqiang and the Chinese delegation for visiting Cambodia and attending the ASEAN Summit. Samdech thanked for the additional assistance, which contributed to the kingdom's development.
Samdech thanked the Chinese counterpart for offering COVID19 vaccines that allowed the kingdom can resume socioeconomic activities. The premier congratulated the great achievements of the Chinese Communist Party and wished to achieve the second 100-year goal of build a modern socialist country.
Lastly, Samdech also congratulated the establishment of the People's Republic of China and the success of the 20th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party. Samdech wished the Chinese delegation, in particular Li Keqiang success in their visit to the kingdom.
