Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 20 – Availing his state visit to Cambodia, Timorese president José Manuel Ramos Horta and high delegation paid a courtesy call on Cambodian president of the Senate Say Chhum, held on Thursday afternoon (Oct 20) at the Senate.
At the invitation of Cambodian king Norodom Sihamoni, Timorese president José Manuel Ramos Horta,72, and high delegation arrived Cambodia on 19 October 2022 to pay three-day state visit.
During the state visit, José Manuel Ramos Horta granted a Royal Audience by Cambodian king Norodom Sihamoni, at the Royal Palace.
Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen and Timorese president will preside over the signing ceremony of two bilateral documents, namely: Air Services Agreement, and the Memorandum of Understanding on Rice Trade between the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste.
José Manuel Ramos Horta also laid wreath at the Independence Monument and the Royal Memorial Statue of Cambodian late king father Norodom Sihanouk.
José Manuel Ramos Horta received a courtesy call by Cambodian army commander lieutenant general Hun Manet. He will deliver public lectures at some outstanding universities in Phnom Penh, and grant interviews with local media outlets as well as deliver remarks at the first Cambodia-Timor-Leste Forum on Tourism and Trade for Sustainable Peace and Development.
The state visit of José Manuel Ramos Horta to Cambodia will further strengthen and deepen the relations and cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral frameworks for mutual benefits of the two countries.
