Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 19 – Fresh News CEO Lim Chea Vutha had a written interview with Russian Embassy in Cambodia.

Question: The Russia-Ukraine war has prolonged for almost eight months, starting from 24 February to 17 October 2022. The war has brought serious impacts to the global economy, including Cambodia. Importantly, it has reached a brink of using nuclear weapons. People around the world are eager to see the ending of this war. Can the Russian Embassy show any clues what would lead to the end of Russia-Ukraine war?

Answer: From the very start of the special military of operation of Russia in Ukraine our president Vladimir Putin explicitly stated its purposes. That is to remove the threat posed by Ukraine to the people of Donbass. To this end, we will seek to demilitarise and denazify Ukraine, as well as bring to trial those who perpetrated numerous bloody crimes against civilians, including against citizens of the Russian Federation.

As for the so-called impact that was mentioned, the special military operation has no impact on the world global economy, and even food supply. The latter issue was settled by the agreements signed by Russia, Ukraine and Türkiye, as well as the UN on 22 July 2022 in Istanbul on Ukrainian grain supply and export of Russian fertilizers. Meanwhile, the Russian food, fertilizers and energy supplies are hampered by the illegitimate Western sanctions. This difficulties are caused by the EU restriction policies and uncertainty caused by them.
