Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 11 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen advised all relevant ministries/ institutions to jointly consider providing education to migrating youths and children who are following their parents.

The premier spoke at the graduation ceremony of over 2,000 students of PPIU, held on Tuesday (Oct 11) at OCIC, Phnom Penh’s Chroy Chongvar district.

According to the study, among the migrant workers to Phnom Penh, to other provinces, or to Thailand, some workers sent their children to live with grandparents or relatives to continue their education, yet other migrant workers took their children with them, pushing the children to quit schools.

In this sense, premier Hun Sen advised Cambodian minister of education, youth, sports Hang Chuon Naron and labor and vocational training minister Ith Samheng to consider providing education to children who follow their migrating parents even if to Thailand.

Samdech added, “if the Royal Government does not pay attention children’s education, they will become illiterate. So, all relevant parties shall jointly find solution for citizens.”
