Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 11 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that Article 119 (new) of the Cambodian constitution stipulated formation of the Royal Government, not the termination.
The premier spoke in the graduation ceremony of over 2,000 students of PPIU, held on Tuesday (Oct 11) at OCIC, Phnom Penh’s Chroy Chongvar district.
“They [the opposition] said terminating the minister of agriculture was the correct decision but it violated Cambodian constitution Article 119. In fact, the Article 119 mentioned the formation of the Royal Government, not the termination,” the premier underscored.
"However, Article 21 of Cambodian constitution said that upon proposals by the Council of Ministers, the king shall sign decrees appointing, transferring or ending the mission of high civil and military officials, ambassadors and envoys extraordinary and plenipotentiary. Upon proposals by the Supreme Council of Magistracy, the king shall sign decrees appointing, transferring or removing judges," the premier added.
