Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 10 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen called on philanthropists, the private sector and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to continue providing financial support to promote effective education movement through Cambodian scouts.
The premier spoke in the closing ceremony of the conference of Cambodia Scouts, held on Monday afternoon (Oct 10) at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia in Phnom Penh.
"I call on philanthropists, the private sector and non-governmental organizations to continue to provide support of resources and means to promote the education movement through Cambodian scouts, to contribute to the promotion of education, knowledge, skills and ethics in the youth,” the premier underlined.
At the same time, Samdech advised the Cambodian National Scouts to continue promoting their activities at all levels, seek funding and organize annual events with the participation in various international scout events.
Premier Hun Sen also expressed his pride in the progress of the Cambodian National Scout Movement throughout the country.
In addition, Samdech said that the Royal Government has always given priority to strengthening the training activities of the younger generation through the activities of the Cambodian Scout Movement, which is the driving force for education, training, both mental and physical fitness.
Samdech continued, the strengthening of leadership and skills training for scout leaders has contributed to the Royal Government in human resource development and has been very crucial to the national policy on the development of Cambodian youth.
