Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 6 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen requested the people of Preah Dak commune, Bantey Srei district, Siem Reap Province to keep calm while two ministers will be sent to clarify and explain the government's purposes.

The premier spoke at the opening of Cambodia Outlook Conference 2022 under a theme “Revitalising Cambodia: Sustaining Development after COVID19”, held on Thursday (Oct 6) in Phnom Penh.

“Please keep calm, we will carefully explain the case. I ordered minister of land management Chea Sophara and minister of culture Phoeurng Sackona to meet with the residents tomorrow and clarify the government’s intention,” the premier added.

Around 3,000 people of Preah Dak commune protested on Wednesday (Oct. 5) after receiving news that they will be moved to the Run Ta Ek resettlement site.
