Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 29 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen instructed all relevant authorities to continue cracking down on illegal gambling in their locals.
The premier spoke in in the 6th National Interfaith Forum Against Human Trafficking on Thursday morning (Sep 29).
The increase of illegal gambling crimes have challenged the implementation of the Royal Government’s safe village-commune policy, the premier added.
Samdech continued, in order to crack down on gambling crimes, Samdech has agreed to an establishment of an inter-ministerial committee headed by Interior minister Sar Kheng to ensure the effectiveness of the operations.
On the occasion, Samdech also drew attention to the fact that some gamblers took advantages of a technology during the COVID19 pandemic and use online platforms to operate their illegal businesses.
