Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 29 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen recalled burning a proposal to establish a Taiwanese mission to Cambodia in 2006-2007, speaking at the 6th National Interfaith Forum Against Human Trafficking on Thursday morning (Sep 29).
The proposal was made under the pretext to facilitate and ensure the legality of about 5,000 Cambodian women who marry men in Taiwan, China.
Premier Hun Sen ordered to burn the documents and considered such action a threat to Cambodia’s respect for One-China policy.
"We welcome investors from Taiwan, but we do not accept a Taiwanese mission to Cambodia," the premier underscored.
