Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 5 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen applauded the 10 percent increase of trade growth between Cambodia-Thailand despite COVID19 pandemic.
Cambodia-Thailand trade volume in 2021 reached nearly USD 8 billion, an increase of about 10 percent from 2020.
The premier spoke during the farewell call made by outgoing Thai ambassador to Cambodia Panyarak Poolthup, held on Monday morning (Sep 5) at the Peace Place.
Despite pandemic, Cambodia-Thailand have been working hard to foster relations and cooperation in trade, education and other sectors. Samdech thanked Panyarak for his efforts in fulfilling his diplomatic mission, contributed to cementing the two countries relations and cooperation, said the premier.
For his part, Panyarak expressed his deep gratitude to premier Hun Sen and the Royal Government for the good cooperation to making his diplomatic mission a success. He also thanked the premier for offering free vaccines to himself and officials of Thai Embassy in Cambodia.
The ambassador congratulated the kingdom’s effective control on COVID19, which allows the reopening of all socio-economic activities such as the chairing of ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings.
