Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 2 – Cambodian foreign minister Prak Sokhonn, and new ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Cambodia Ülkü Kocaefe, appreciated with satisfaction the existing excellent friendship and good cooperation between the two countries during a courtesy call by the envoy on 1 September 2022. Ambassador Ülkü Kocaefe conveyed to Prak Sokhonn the greetings and best wishes from Turkish foreign minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, while Prak Sokhonn recalled his recent fruitful visit to Türkiye and the participation of Türkiye's Foreign Minister in the recent 55th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM) and Related Meetings in Phnom Penn.

“Prak Sokhonin and Ülkü Kocaefe noted with satisfaction some positive factors that will open the way for the boosting of trade relations, which have not yet met the two countries potentials, among them the decision of Turkish government to establish the Office of the Counsellor for Commercial Affairs in the Türkiye's Embassy in Phnom Penh, the entry into force of the Agreement on Reciprocal Promotion and Protection of Investment, the signing of the Agreement on Avoidance of Double Taxation, as well as the 3rd meeting of Joint Economic Commission to be held in Cambodia on 19-20 October 2022,” according to the outcomes seen by Fresh News on Friday (Sep 2).
