Vientiane (FN), Aug. 31 – Cambodian army commander lieutenant general Hun Manet paid a courtesy call on Viphavanh on 30 August 2022 during the official visit of a high-level delegation of Cambodian army to the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

Lao prime minister Phankham Viphavanh praised Cambodia’s wise leadership in a timely response to the regional and global challenges.

Lao premier pledged to foster Cambodia-Laos bilateral relation under the framework of long-term comprehensive strategic partnership. He also mentioned the two nations’ long-standing solidarity relations and aimed to enhance both army cooperation to achieve mutual trust, which contributed to building the border of friendship, peace and common prosperity, in particular the exchange of economy and health services.

Viphavanh thanked the Royal Government and the people of Cambodia for always providing assistances to Laos during the difficult time, such as COVID19 vaccines, buses and funds.

For his part, Hun Manet thanked Lao premier for his commitments to fostering the two armies’ cooperation, which is an important factor to strengthen friendship, solidarity, good cooperation and peoples of the two states.
