Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 31 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen ordered Cambodian culture and fine arts minister Phoeurng Sackona to review Miss Grand Cambodia beauty pageant competition after receiving many criticisms, speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of two new flyovers on Wednesday (Aug 31) in Phnom Penh.

“The public opinion expressed their regrets and that it requires adjustments,” the premier underlined.

Miss Grand Cambodia 2022 is known to be organized by Mahahang Productions with In Sophin as the general director. This beauty pageant received many criticisms due to costume designs that affected the dignity of Svay Rieng’s Bavet city and Banteay Meanchey’s Poipet city. As a result, the organizer issued an apology letter and removed these costumes from the competition. Moreover, the representative costume of Stung Treng was extremely sexy and seriously insulted the good tradition and culture of the kingdom.
