Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 22 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that the improvement of Cambodia-Viet Nam economic relations is an essential factor contributing to support the political ties of both countries.
The chairman of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Le Hoai Trung paid a courtesy call on the premier on Monday morning (Aug 22) at the Peace Palace.
Le Hoai Trung a led adelegation to visit Cambodia to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Cambodia-Viet Nam relations. His visit aimed to promote Cambodia-Viet Nam solidarity between the parties, the nations and the people, particularly, to make economic ties grow stronger and more effective through both bilateral and multilateral mechanisms.
Le Hoai Trung also praised for the kingdom’s socio-economic development and her roles in international arena. He also congratulated the ruling CPP for victory over the 5th mandate communal election.
For his part, premier Hun Sen pledged to foster Cambodia-Viet Nam economic relations based on the existing ties by pushing the transformation of former war zones and borders into peace, development and cooperation zones.
Samdech Hun Sen believed that strong economic relations will further cement political ties between the two countries that will bring about benefits to both people.
