Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 14 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that the Chinese Zero-COVID Policy has affected the influx of Chinese tourists to the kingdom due to long-time quarantine days.
The premier spoke during the Ministry of Tourism’s annual meeting at Sokha Hotel Phnom Penh, held on Thursday (Jul 14).
“In case China decides to lift zero COVID19 policy, I believed that more Chinese tourists will visit Cambodia. Currently, we have increased the number of flights between the two countries compared to the previous period,” the premier underlined.
Before the COVID19 pandemic, Chinese tourists ranked the first for visiting Cambodia.
After Cambodia fully reopens the country and eases the travel restriction, tourists from neighboring countries visiting Cambodia increases.
