Banteay Meanchey (FN), Jul. 1 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen ordered the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Administration to cooperate with the Mine Authority to clear all landmines in Poichar commune and Ang Trapeang Thmor area, Phnom Srok district.

The premier’s order came after receiving reports of serious threats of landmines in Poichar commune, as well as in the Ang Trapeang Thmor area.

Speaking on the 18th National Fish Day, Samdech also instructed Cambodian finance minister Aun Porn Moniroth to include the mining budget in the national budget for 2023 and 2024.

On that occasion, premier Hun Sen also called on support from private sector in the mining activity.
