Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 23 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen stated that the law to prevent the spread of COVID19 was enacted to protect the lives of the Cambodian people.
His remarks was made at the handover ceremony of the first batch of 332,000 doses of Japan-aided AstraZeneca at Phnom Penh International Airport on Friday.
"My priority is to ensure the well-being and the lives of the people. The right to life is the top priority that shall be granted to the people, not the right to freedom of expression or democracy. Therefore, Cambodian law is created to protect human life. What I have been doing is protecting my people's lives," the premier responded to the ill-intended groups that often criticize his leadership, in particular, the enactment of laws to prevent the spread of COVID19.
Cambodian government commits 20 million doses of COVID19 vaccines to vaccinate 10 million Cambodian people for free of charge.
