Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 7 –  During the phone conversation with Hon Marise Payne, Australian minister for foreign affairs and minister for women of Australia, Cambodian foreign affairs minister emphasized Cambodia’s readiness to work with other AMS and ASEAN partners to support Myanmar’s return to the path of normalcy and democratic transition.

Cambodian top diplomat highlighted Cambodia’s appreciation for the steps taken by Brunei as the current Chair of ASEAN in implementing ASEAN Leaders’ 5-point Consensus.

He also expressed confidence in the strength of ASEAN diversity to achieve a peaceful solution through the ASEAN way, in the interest of the people of Myanmar and ASEAN community building.

Minister Prak Sokhonn reiterated Cambodia’s resolve to ensure good achievements during its Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2022, with the whole ASEAN as a strong family focusing on addressing the challenges to peace, stability, ASEAN centrality and Community building.
