Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 2 – Chinese president Xi Jinping sent a letter to premier Hun Sen on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Cambodian People's Party.

"On behalf of the Communist Party of China, the Chinese people and in my own name, I would like to extend warmest congratulations to Samdech Techo and through Samdech Techo to the Cambodian People's Party and the people of Cambodia."

"Over the years, the Cambodian People's Party has been uniting and leading the people of Cambodia in the cause of national construction and development, making positive contribution to regional stability and prosperity. Today, Cambodia is enjoying political stability, rapid economic development, continuous improvement of people's livelihood and constant elevation of international status. We feel sincerely happy about that. The Chinese side will continuously support Cambodia to follow a development path that suits its national conditions. We firmly believe that under Samdech Techo's wise leadership, the Cambodian People's Party will continue to make new and greater contribution to national prosperity and people's happiness of Cambodia, as well as to the peace and development of our region," according to the letter.
