Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 23 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has departed Phnom Penh on Friday for the ASEAN Leaders’ Meeting in Jakarta, Indonesia.

«Right now, I am leading Cambodia’s senior delegates to Jakarta through a special flight. Most ASEAN leaders will arrive this afternoon,» Premier Hun Sen wrote on Facebook.

The premier is accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Prak Sokhonn and a number of senior government officials.

The premier will join the meeting on 24 April and repatriate on the same date. Upon arrival, he will take COVID19 test at Phnom Penh International Airport in order to ensure safety for everyone.

«During this meeting, the ASEAN Leaders are expected to focus on three main topics, namely advancement of ASEAN Community building process, including the initiatives on COVID-19 response and socio-economic recovery efforts, ASEAN external relations, international and regional developments of common interests and concern.» according to Foreign Affairs Ministry’s press release.
