Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 5 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen wrote on his Facebook page on Friday morning that the vaccination campaign will officially kick off at Calmette Hospital on 10 February, where he will be the first to vaccinate accompanied by senior officials, except Defense Minister Tea Banh, who has been vaccinated.
For the first phase, 600,000 doses of Chinese-aided COVID19 vaccines will arrive in Cambodia on 7 February, he said.
“The vaccination will broadcast live and I will hold a press conference at Calmette Hospital,” he underlined.
The premier also recalled his memorable visit to China amidst the widespread of Coronavirus in Wuhan.
“Today, 5 Feb, marks one year anniversary of my visit to the People's Republic of China. It was a visit of friendship and solidarity at a time when the COVID19 pandemic began spreading in China,” wrote Prime Minister Hun Sen.
He thanked Chinese President Xi Jinping, Prime Minister Li Keqiang and other Chinese leaders for a warm welcome, and for ensuring that Cambodian students in China are healthy and safe in their academic journey.”
