Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 3 – The outgoing Singaporean Ambassador to Cambodia Michael Tan Keng Siong hoped to see better relations between Cambodia and Singapore, speaking at a farewell meeting with Prime Minister Hun Sen at the Peace Palace on Tuesday morning.

The ambassador emphasized that during his mandate in Cambodia, he worked closely with the people, friends, government officials and leaders. In particular, with great support extended by the Cambodian government, his diplomatic mission in Cambodia was a great success, contributing to promoting bilateral cooperation in economy, trade, investment, tourism, education and vocational training, and the development of Cambodia.

Ambassador Michael Tan was proud to successfully organize events to celebrate the commemoration of Cambodia-Singapore 55th diplomatic relations amidst COVID19. He stated that Cambodia is a safe place to live, while the world is challenged by global pandemic.

The premier thanked the Government of Singapore for its support to Cambodia. He informed the ambassador that to cope with COVID19, the Royal Government of Cambodia has implemented three measures, including preventing the import of COVID19 cases into Cambodia; preventing community transmission; and curing the infected patients.
