Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 23 – Metfone Company has incorporated with National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM) donated 5,000 packs of relief in the 10 most damaged provinces due to the flooding.

Each packs of gifts includes food and supplies and also 1 free SIM card with USD300 in balance. Metfone will keep organizing more supporting activities in the upcoming time. The total donation worth USD50,000 is expected to contributorily help nearly 5,000 households to overcome the difficult situation.

The provinces are beneficial under the program are Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Pursat, Kampong Thom, Phnom Penh, Kandal, Sihanoukville, Kampong Speu, Pailin and Stung Treng.

On the other hand, even affected seriously by the bad weather, Metfone and its technical workforce have put great effort by maintaining the network without remarkable interruption on services. 100% staffs have been dispatched to the flooding areas to assure the best quality at those locations.

Since the flooding has occurred in most provinces of the Kingdom due to heavy rain and intense weather, the NCDM reported that flooding since early October has affected over 480,000 people in the country, almost 110,000 houses were damaged, and over 46,000 people had been evacuated. Thousands of hectares of rice and other crops were also damaged.
