Phnom Penh (FN), Jul.16 – Within the first six months of 2020, Cambodia had collected approximately USD 1.3 billion of customs and excise revenue, down 16.2 percent compared to the same period in 2019, according to the General Department of Customs and Excise's report obtained by Fresh News on Thursday.
Compared to the first half of 2019, revenue from vehicles decreased by 31.7 percent, construction materials down by 28.2 percent, while fuel revenue increased by 5.5 percent and other mixed goods up by 3.1 percent.
Customs duties decreased by 19.8 percent; special duties down by 21.6 percent; and VAT decreased by 9.6 percent.
The main sources of tax revenue are vehicles and machinery, which were accounted for 42.4 percent of total revenue; fuel 21.6 percent; refined goods and construction materials 34.7 percent of total revenue.
