Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 20 – Ambassador An Sokkhoeurn, Cambodia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Office at Geneva, spoke at the General Debate of the Human Rights Council on 19 June 2020.

"Cambodia recognises the roles of the OHCHR in offering technical assistance and capacity-building, which are instrumental in strengthening national institutions in fulfilment of human rights obligations. Cambodia takes pride as the first country to host the OHCHR Country Office since 1993, which today becomes the oldest one in the world. This is indicative of Cambodia’s unwavering commitment to promotion, protection and respect for human rights," according to the statement.
