Phnom Penh (FN), May 27 – Timorese Ambassador to Cambodia Ermenegildo Kupa Lopes highly commended Cambodia's effective measures in fighting against Covid-19, speaking in a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Wednesday at the Peace Palace.

Ambassador Ermenegildo informed the premier that all the Timorese students, officials and citizens in Cambodia are safe and healthy; and congratulated the Royal Government for successful prevention of the spread of Covid-19.

Prime Minister Hun Sen shared experience to the ambassador that fighting Covid-19 does not rely heavily on advanced technology but on leadership capacity. Through the ambassador, he thanked Timor-Leste for supplying face masks to Cambodia to combat Covid-19.

As of 27 May 2020, Cambodia has confirmed 124 cases of Covid-19; 122 or 98.3 percent have recovered.
