Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 18 – The Chinese Embassy in Cambodia on Wednesday morning declared that China Academy of Military Medical Sciences has successfully developed Covid-19 vaccine.

"Covid-19 vaccine developed by the team led by top epidemiologist Chen Wei of China's Academy of Military Medical Sciences was approved to launch clinical trials in China on Monday. China has finished the preliminary preparation work for producing safe, effective and qualified Covid-19 vaccines on a large scale according to international standards and domestic regulations," Chinese Embassy in Cambodia wrote on Facebook page.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) declared Covid-19 a pandemic, pushing the threat beyond the global health emergency it had announced in January.

The report says the pandemic has infected a total of 183,658 people, of which 7,177 have died and 79,911 have been recovered.
