Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 7 – Prime Minister Hun Sen decided to cancel Angkor Sankranta Khmer New Year Celebration amid a new case of Covid-19 found in the city of Siem Reap.
He also ordered the two-week closures of schools in Siem Reap city to curb the spread of Covid-19, according to Health Minster Mam Bun Heng.
The Kingdom confirmed Saturday the first case of Covid-19 on a 38-year-old Cambodian man.
Health minister said at the press conference on Saturday evening held at the ministry.
It is worth recalling that on 4 March, a Japanese man at his 40s was tested positive with Covid-19 up on arrival in Japan after taking flight from Siem Reap province in Cambodia via Vietnam, reported Kyodo News.
Ministry of Health then quarantined four people in Siem Reap province who had direct contacts with the Japanese man positive with Covid-19. Among the four, three were tested negative.
