Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 27 – A road in Dhaka, Bangladesh was named after Cambodian Late-King Father Norodom Sihanouk.
The official launch of "King Norodom Sihanouk Road" was launched on 26 February 2020 in the diplomatic area of Baridhara, attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cambodia and senior officials of the Government of Bangladesh.
Cambodia will name street 337 as "Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Road" and set to be officially inaugurated in 2020, according to Cambodian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Koy Kuong.
The agreement on mutual naming was made when Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh visited Cambodia in 2017.
Road naming will strengthen the bilateral cooperation and close bonds between the two countries.
