Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 26 – Holland America Line, the owner of the Westerdam cruise ship, announced on Wednesday that all tourists and crews deployed to Cambodia now returned home.

“Holland Amercia Line would like to express their sincere thanks to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun and Ministry of Health as well as relevant authorities in Cambodia for their efforts to facilitate the return of their guests,” the company wrote in the statement on 26 February 2020.

"We are happy to share that all of our Westerdam guests and our "go team" employees deployed to Cambodia are now home. Once again we want to extend our sincerest gratitude to our guests for their patience and understanding during this complex situation,” it continued.

The Westerdam cruise, carrying a total of 1,455 passengers and 802 crew members, departed China's Hong Kong on 1 February, and had been turned away by several countries and regions due to fears over the virus. The cruise docked in the port of Sihanoukville on Valentine’s Day.
