Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 21 – Prime Minister Hun Sen wrote on his Facebook‘s comment section on Friday that if he were the Prime Minister of Malaysia, he would immediately remove Minister of Health for being negligent.
“Before justice prevails, humanity suffered a week long. If I were the Prime Minister of Malaysia, I would fire the Minister of Health immediately for being negligent and lacking accountability; thus, affecting citizens of 41 countries,” the premier wrote.
“Our country is poor, but we bear a responsibility on this humanitarian work,” he added.
Cambodian Strongman’s reaction came after Malaysia announced today that the 83-year-old American woman on Westerdam is now clear of the disease.
Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said on Friday (Feb 21) that the 83-year-old woman, who is currently being treated at the Sungai Buloh Hospital, has been tested repeatedly for Covid-19, with the results showing that she is clear of the virus, reported local media.
Cambodia’s Health Ministry wrote in the press release on 21 February, “the irregularities in the results announced by Malaysian authorities have caused fear, confusion, and discrimination among Westerdam passengers.”
“Passengers who do not carry the Covid-19 virus have been restricted for several days and missed their flights back home, wasting their time and unnecessary spendings. On the other hand, it has affected the honour and dignity of humanity and the country, causing a serious humanitarian crisis,” the ministry continued.
