Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 17 – Phnom Penh Governor Khuong Sreng took 120 passengers from Westerdam cruise to visit major tourist destinations in Phnom Penh on Monday.

Mean Chan Yada, Phnom Penh deputy governor, said that the tourists, who come from different countries across the world, visited the Royal Palace, Chaktomuk riverside, and other attractions before they returned to the Sokha Hotel Phnom Penh. The tour ended at 6 pm.

The deputy governor added the trip was organised to allow foreign tourists see development of Phnom Penh, the heart of Cambodia.

It is worth recalling that these 120 tourists were among the over 2,200 people on the Westerdam cruise docking in Cambodia’s Sihanoukville on 14 February 2020.

Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Sen sent a message to the world that it is not a time of fear and discrimination amid coronavirus, but a time of joint collaboration to solve global challenges.

Despite the fact that the cruise was rejected to dock in several countries with a fear of Covid-19 outbreak, Strongman Hun Sen greeted the passengers of Westerdam cruise on Valentine’s Day; shook their hands; and presented bouquets of roses to them at the Sihanoukville port.
