Beijing (FN), Feb. 5 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and his eldest son Lieutenant General Hun Manet, army commander of RCAF, went to convey regards and extend support to Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.
The premier and his delegation landed Beijing at 3:50 p.m on 5 February 2020, making him the first world's leader visiting China amid coronavirus outbreak.
Premier Hun Sen reaffirmed to Xi Jinping that Cambodia will not evacuate its officials and students from China nor ban Chinese flights to the Kingdom.
Cambodia’s Strongman upholds the principle that “we cannot be there when things are good but run away when troubles come.”
Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni also sent a condolence letter to President Xi during the difficult time facing coronavirus epidemic.
“I have been profoundly saddened to learn of the outbreak of the new coronavirus which has affected the People's Republic of China and has caused human loss,” His Majesty wrote in the letter dated 5 February 2020.
“I extend my sincere condolences and profound sympathy to Your Excellency and to the valiant families of the victims.”
